Vote Yes On USMCA

The USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) is a brand new trade agreement that puts American workers first in the modern economy. The USMCA replaces NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement), which took effect 25 years ago and was negotiated during a time when the economy looked much different than it does today. USMCA will replace out-of-date provisions of NAFTA with a new deal that is tailored to put America first.

When USMCA becomes law, American workers, farmers and consumers will be the main beneficiaries. This deal will provide U.S. employers with tariff-free access to sell U.S. products in Mexico and Canada while protecting American jobs from outsourcing. USMCA has been agreed to by the leading negotiators from the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Soon the deal will be sent to Congress in the form of legislative text. When Congress passes the bill by a simple majority and it is signed by the President, USMCA will officially replace NAFTA.

If Congress does not act, the consequences would be severe. The price of almost all consumer goods would steeply increase, and jobs would be lost. The good news is, there is no reason for this to happen. It’s simple – Congress must act, and vote to approve the USMCA this year.

I am calling to strongly encourage you to vote YES on the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement) to replace NAFTA. NAFTA took effect 25 years ago and was negotiated during a time when the economy looked much different than it does today. USMCA will replace the out-of-date provisions of NAFTA with a new deal that is tailored to put American workers first.

I support the USMCA because American workers and consumers will be the main beneficiaries of the agreement. This deal would provide U.S. employers with tariff-free access to sell U.S. products in Mexico and Canada while protecting American jobs from outsourcing. The USMCA supports American farmers, manufacturers and autoworkers – and also encourages pharmaceutical and medical breakthroughs.
